Do you think this should get FS (5) designation?

This is my 1939S Reverse of 40 Jefferson Nickle graded MS65 by PCGS. I purchased it in the slab so I do not know when it was done. I've had it for awhile and every time I pull it out to admire it, I can see no reason why it would not be considered 5 FS. Should I resubmit this and request FS Designation?

    Thanks for looking

I would certainly re-submit that coin. I see no reason why it shouldn't get a full step designation. For comparison, here is a 39-S NGC MS65 FS that I sold earlier this year. NGC is tougher with the FS designation than PCGS.

I like the steps on your coin better than on mine.

    True.
PCGS FS must have at least 5 steps, but can have 6 steps. Their label will not show whether it's 5 or 6.
NGC breaks them out to 5FS and 6FS designations.

While that is true, what I was talking about was the application of the FS designation in general. You will see a much higher percentage of coins in PCGS holders with a FS designation than that of NGC. For example, I doubt this coin would get FS by NGC

The mark is shallow but it definitely makes it questionable.

I agree, that one would never get 5FS from NGC.
