The 1972 cents have a lot of different types of doubling and they are a number of varieties for them. Best to check it out carefully first.
It does look like very slight doubling maybe on inside of upper curve of the 2. Go through a few rolls of common coins & will likely find some good doubling. Do not want to say things you already know but tilt coin until light glairs off the surface turn the coin slightly, verify you see a separate border on the numbers or letters. I find lots of good doubling on quarters (letters numbers are bigger) & probably easier for someone starting because you are guaranteed to find some in; God We Trust, E . Pluribus Unum, & often in the date. Also look at the olive branch. I do 6 rolls of mixed quarters at a time & usually find 10 to 12 or so error coins with easy to see doubling. You can also find weird doubling under Georges nose. Then move to the smaller coins as you will be a bit more sure of what you find. Happy hunting!
Your photos aren't clear enough to tell. The doubling in the photos Robert Ransom posted are only of one of the 10 different DDO's for the year. Check this site. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/DDO 1972.htm
I provide my opinion based upon the data supplied. If the data sucks... In this case, Liberty was normal and the date was normal IMO.
No worries. In the instance that you just stated, there are three off the top of my head, that couldn't be identified with those photos. 6, 9, 10. The reason they are different doubled dies is they show a different doubling.
