I'll tell you who is really good pickin FEC with clashes...John Call aka C-B-D
Tough coin. I spent many years trying to pick the quarter on ebay. I finally gave up and bought a nice EF-45 from Rick Snow.
Well you really have a pretty example....thanks for sharing it in your pm. I be willing to bet....that you, Kanga, and Eduardo combined collections could fill a huge room at The Smithsonian... with one hellva spectacular show case! You 3 never cease to amaze me....as well other members here.
Edit - Never mind, I'm terrible with acronyms.
I guess. I got thrown off because the subject was Flying Eagle Cents.
Yes that was my bad...as Larry and I had a pm, and he shared his image of that variety.
I should become more tolerant when it comes to acronyms. But I probably won't. Pushing 80 is a little late for that kind of refocus.
I didn't know you were an active collector...
Look at the 1. It’s easy to see from there and yes, it’s slightly out of focus. I took them on a bad day and didn’t notice. This is the only other photo I have. Out of focus but just look for the bust figure upside down. Once you find it, it’s easy to see the entire thing.
Not trying to steal your thread. Just answering your question. My apologies.
No worries my friend. Have a great fourth!
Bill was showing me stuff he had bought at the show, and he handed me one of the cents with the half dollar clash marks on the obverse. These had been published in Clearinghouse by the first Editor, but nobody ever knew what had caused them. This was the first time that I had handled one. I studied it for a while, and eventually the Seated Liberty design, backwards, just popped into my head. I told Bill what he had and he damned near fell off his chair.
