Or can one find them in change? I've looked in all my paper bills I have gotten back for change in the past 4 months, and have not found a single star note.

Go to your local bank and buy a strap if you are really determined to find one.

They are still out there. I have found that the automatic checkout things at grocery stores are the best. I went to Jewel a while back and used an automatic checkout, and got 3 star notes in my change!

I have found four $1 star notes in the past two weeks... I originally thought they were a little tougher to find, but where I work I take the bills out of a drink machine and I find them in there pretty frequently. I think that is on the same lines as change, so yeah, you will find them.

Star notes are always usually being produced so you are bound to find one in circulation sooner or later. It depends on where you live too though. Series 2009 currently has a good handful of star runs and 2009 stars are quite common in circulation these days. Bigger cities will most likely see these newer printed bill first though.

I got a *one playing poker LOL Was in crap condition, but from a 320K run. They're out there, and 99.99% of people pay them no mind. Heck most cashiers don't even know what replacement notes are. Seriously, ask some tellers LOL.

You have to look at more than a couple of notes a day. If you want to find collectible notes, get stacks and check them out. You may have to look at a couple of hundred stacks before you find one. Also, don't forget you look for mismatched serial numbers, missing or stuck digits, missing ink, etc......(but that entails work and dedication.)

What do you mean by being sucked up into stacks. If you are talking about straps of 100 bills...those get assembled and broken all the time, especially for smaller denominations.

Most of my star notes have also come the casino. I have a rule : all stars must be saved. But damn that's tough when the video poker machine is calling. The other day I got a note with only 2 numbers in the serial number. You just gotta keep looking.
