So I am walking through a building that I am in 2 or 3 days a week, I look down at the floor and see a coin. It is quarter that has a smokey color on the obverse, kind of cool. I flip it over and am instantly anxious. It is not the nicest reverse I have ever seen, actually it seemed like the worse. I started to look through magnifying glass and I am seeing way more stuff than I should in places it shouldn't be. I didn't want to touch it but I am not sure how to confirm what I think I am seeing. So any advice on taking the pics or what to do with this thing it would be much appreciated. I know it looks like garbage, but I swear there is more to it. Thanks

There is an actual raised star under the right wing. I think.....lol..am I seeing things?

It looks to me like it spent some of its lifetime in a wishing well.

I live in a not so nice part of the city :(.. I don't touch coins that I see lying around that look like yours because it's usually old urine from rats.

**wearing gloves** It is amazing that what I see changes with the different lighting and perspectives. My imagination is having an effect on my site. If there is anything maybe another coin was laying on top when the rat took a pit stop....heh, heh. I am learning. I might need to start using some discretion about when I post...lol.. I will keep learning though!! I am picturing people chuckling. :meh:

I'd be REALLY, REALLY worried if you could tell the species of rat from some characteristic of the damage. That would be entirely too much knowledge for my taste...
