I found an inexpensive used copy of Martin Beckmann's Diva Faustina: Coinage and Cult in Rome and the Provinces. I'll post a review when it arrives in the mail and I've had a chance to look it over. In the meantime, I'm going to show off one of my recent DIVA FAVSTINA denarii. Let's see yours! Faustina Sr, AD 138-141 Roman AR denarius; 3.83 g, 18.2 mm Obv: DIVA FAVSTINA, draped bust, right Rev: AETERNITAS, Fortuna standing left, holding globe and rudder Refs: RIC 348; BMCRE 360; Cohen 6; RCV 4577
Looks interesting, from the review on Amazon:"The volume contains illustrated catalogues of the sestertii and aurei in the name of Diva Faustina, including forgeries and a statistical analysis, co-authored with Warren Esty. Thanks Warren for the sweet little bronze @Valentinian
i just bought a dupondius of her and will post when it comes in. nice examples and the book should be a plus to own.
Like Mikey Zee I'll go with the wrong Faustina (or does the book cover both?). Mine is a very barbarous sestertius. Striking large bronzes was a bit beyond the technical skills of this 'mint'.
I will be interested in your review, as looked at that book a few times, also love your Fortuna, great detail and good weight. I have this Diva Faustina silver of her temple.
