I recently purchased this coin. Quite excited to have it. I cannot find any others like it, although I did find an article about a 2008 James Monroe with the same error. Due to the way the coin is struck and edge lettered in a two step process, this error is possible but extremely rare.

If anyone else has any insights into it, or what you would value it at I would greatly appreciate it.

It's really hard to say what it might fetch in another auction. Suppose someone won it for $5K, but when they listed it for auction 30 days later, the highest bid was only $3K. S%&t happens!

I would love to find any information of this type of error. Type 2 blank with edge lettering.

So what did you pay for it? That'd be a good estimate of its value.

I don't think I have seen a PCGS holder and label quite like that one, with the information on the reverse, upside side (coinage).

    Well, it was worth $2,500...

True, the original owners were paid a finders fee of $2,500 from PCGS for it. I found two later examples that were James Madison on Fred Weinberg's coin selling site for $8,000 and $10,000. I have not been able to find any other Washington dollars with this error.
