discoloration of 2009 cents in proof set

Has anyone had any problems with discoloration of the Lincoln cents in the 2009 proof set?

Not so far. I've got sets going back to the fifties they all seem to be doing just fine......

There have been several articles in the coin mags about exactly that. The mint even had to delay the release of the sets because the cents were getting discolored. They went to extreme lengths to try and prevent this. They finally came up with a coating, can't remember exactly what kind of coating it was but it was an anti-tanishing agent, that they put on all the coins. It was hoped that this anti-tarnishing agent would work.

Sounds like it was less than 100% successful.

Yes, I have heard more reports for the 2009 Proof Lincoln's than ewer before.

Yes, I have heard more reports for the 2009 Proof Lincoln's than ever before. Most are saying they are target toning very fast in the mint plastic case for some reason.
