I was searching ebay and found this coin; 1924-S Peace Dollar at auction. The seller has a good feedback but something looks wrong with the coin. It looks too clean and the color too "nickel like". Is this an example of a dipped coin or some other process? The coin number is 130103223364. Thanks

That one apparently isn't the first dipped coin he has sold. Most of his "neutrals" sound pretty negative to me.

I would generally avoid this seller. Many of his coins are overdipped. The seller has had many early commemoratives on ebay in the past that were overdipped and sold as 65/66 coins.

That Peace Dollar is dipped and completely unattractive.

I once bought an early washington quarter from him and the pics made the coin look a lot nice than it was...it was definitely dipped. BTW the peace dollar looks quite dipped as well.

Many thanks for the feedback. Since I am only a collector of NGC or PCGS coins, I did not know what a dipped coin looked like. The description said that it had mint luster but I did not see any because the color looked flat and way too clean. I am still in a learing process. Thanks again. Robert
