I mean, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that the 1996-W dime is pretty neat, but I just have a general set anyway.
1982P in Mint State (this is the one you're most likely to find) 1996W in Mint State Any Errors-Clipped, multiple strike, lamination peel, off-center, lamination peel, etc.
There is the 1982 no mintmark dime, which is worth quite a bit relative to the rest of the coins. Also, the 1964 SMS dimes are worth a significant sum and these are not proof coins. The rest of them might be worth collecting because someone likes them or thinks they are attractive.
any of the older series of dimes is worth collecting. stay with the best grade you can afford, don't buy low grade coins just to fill holes.
- Forgot the 1983P in MS Also, as you're searching through coins cherry-picking, consider setting aside the nicest ones and putting together sets of high-quality circulated coins (great eye appeal, non-cleaned of course), as some will pay for the 'set' above the value coins - essentially paying you for the work of putting it together. This is tricky as some won't even pay face value, others will pay a surprising premium.
If you believe this article that I read on the coinflation website, it is the 1953-S. Based on my lack of getting them, I would bet on the 2009 P and D. http://numismaster.com/ta/numis/Article.jsp?ad=article&ArticleId=26315
