Does anyone have any experience using this product? I've wondered, rather than a digital camera, if this product would be more useful for coin specific applications.
I purchased and still have one, as it has a higher power for very small details ( 100X or more), but even though it was listed as " variable magnification up to 200X), the variation doesn't go down enough to include even a whole 3CN coin, let along a dime. So if you want to show all of a coin, it may be useless for that. Jim
Thanx Jim.....Exactly the info I was looking for. If you don't mind saying, which brand/model did you purchase. I was on a website earlier tonite (www.Bigc.com) that showed some demo pic's of a whole Morgan as well as more detailed pic's. Very soon, I'm going to bring my equipment into the 21st century. This looks good, but I wondered if the practicality may be lacking. My computer is still a 1999 Compaq presario. The new Dell will be here in six weeks......can't wait. The hamster inside of my computer is on social security.
Onehawk, Mine was from Taiwan, approx $75 after shipping. Software was crappy, but worked well with Corel Photo software X2. It was a Dino lite takeoff, but I think they are both made by the same company, just branded differently. The Dino-Lite (tm) microscope was about 3X as expensive. Big C 's microscopes are Dino-lite. They have expanded their models, when I bought there was only 3 models and no WD ( extended working distance) models which I assume allows them to take photos of the whole coin like they showed. I couldn't find a pricing, but I would ask which model took the Morgan photo. Jim
Thanx again......Yeah, I couldn't find any pricing on their website either. Appreciate the insight. Jeff
