    Hi all,

Doing yet another die variety for the day. This one is listed as 2006P-1DO-021 on coppercoins.com. It is a class IX doubled die that shows notching and extra thickness in LIBERTY.
    Enjoy!

Yep. I'd never disparage someone for searching for these or discourage them if that's what they wanted to do. For myself, I've pretty much given up on the chase of the minor ones from '06. They're just too time consuming to ID and attribute.
Although I do glance at them for the two "good ones" , Coppercoins 17 & 18.

    Nice example though, non cents.

Sorry that this off topic, but how do you post threads?

Yes, it can be time consuming to try to find which die you have, but the great thing about variety collecting is you technically never lose money. You buy cents from the bank at face value. You search them, and remove everything that is worth a premium, then cash the rest back in. Then you sell the varieties you found for an instant profit!

I wish it were that easy but then since you're dealing with cents I suppose it might be.

The ONLY reason I don;t get heavily involved in searching cents is that my old fat fingers just have a hard time handling them. If I manage to figure something out, then I usually get bored after 4 or 5 rolls. Being an IKE, Kennedy, and Washington collector, my attention span is limited to about 50 or so coins.

    Oh well.

I bought a $250 box of nickels once. I made it through about 12 rolls and then just sold the rest.

    I'm useless.

The great thing about collecting coins is that you can stop and start whenever you like (well, maybe not all of us...:D). You can always try variety collecting for a little bit, realize it's not for you, and find something else, no harm done.
