Went through my wheat cents (about 500) and found these neat guys. They seem to have something weird on the wheat stalks. Possibly die chips or filled dies? Not sure, but thought they were neat. What really struck me odd is they are all dated 1953, which I thought was neat. Need y'alls opinion. Here they are: Thanks! Phoenix
What I find intreresting is the cracks are on both sides of the coin ( East & West) and seem to be fairly symmetrical... obviously not the same, but still enough to make a guy scratch his head and wonder??? Pretty cool... Mr. Cool One!
Thanks! Really? I can try to get better pics then. Will have to try. Thanks! Okay, cool. Will get more pics then. Thanks! A possibility, didn't think of that one. Thanks! I know, that is what struck me as odd. That's what has me puzzled, lol. Thanks! lol. Phoenix
they are called die chips. When Minute pieces of the die break and fall away, small raised areas result on the corresponding portion of the coin when struck by that die. Thanks, Bill
