Die Rotation Error Dime

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by Stripeythecrab, Jan 19, 2013.

  1. I was looking through some of my change today and I found a 1998P dime with a rotated die error! It's about 150 degrees off, meaning that the reverse is only 30 degrees from being medal orientation. (When I flip the coin vertically, the reverse is almost upside down.) The coin itself is in around EF-45 to AU-50 condition.

Any idea as to the value of something like this? Thanks!

And sorry about the photos. It looks like they have a rotation erro of their own! :p

30 degrees really is not much, unfortunately. You will start to see these errors gain value once they reach 90° or more of rotation, in my opinion.
    Keep up the hunt!

  4. Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. It's not 30 degrees off, it's 150 degrees. I said that it was 30 away from medal orientation (being 180 degrees.)

The op said 150 deg. Off. I believe he is saying if he flips the coin the reverse is upside down.

  6. Yes, that's exactly what I meant, thank you.

I obviously did not read that correctly, my apologies. The pictures kinda threw me off.
That is a nice example. I could imagine $20 for it.
