Die doubling?

Good pm everyone! I've been collecting coins for almost half a year now but have yet to get my hand on a double die error coin. I have to admit, I continue to struggle identifying die doubling errors. Anyway, I have attached a few pics I took earlier today. It's from a 1973-D Kennedy half dollar. I took several shots at different angles. I looked at some sample image online to compare it with what I have.
I think what I have is a mechanical doubling and not a true DD. If I'm correct (freaking sucks), at least now I know how to tell the difference. But if I'm wrong then it means I still suck at DD identification. So I'm looking forward to all your comments, inputs and insights. Thanks in advance!

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Yeah, that's MD. Notice that it is flat and shelflike with no split serifs.
