i found this in the bargan bin at my local dealer. I have seen a few morgans with die cracks before but this one takes the cake. there are cracks at: on the obverse the E in e Pluribus at the neck from the stars to the lowe right hair the reverse through the right wing at thetop of united and also states how common is this? these are my first picture posts so i hope you can see enough detail by the time i reduced the file size to acceptable limits some of the detail is hard to see.
I've seen a lot of 1921-Ds with die cracks. I was helping my Grandfather sort his coins a while back and more than half of his 21 D's had cracks. None of the ones I have, have them. But, I only have a couple as I tend not to buy many 21's.
Die cracks on the '21 Morgan are extremely common because they had one goal at the time - to pump out as many of them as they could as fast as they could. So the dies were used well past the time they should have been retired.
