Got one in the bag FINALLY:thumb: or should I say box. It's an 1980 and it appears that it may have a double clash. The column behind Abe's head appears to be doubled. Anyways just wanted to share and hear some feedback. If a pic of reverse is necessary I'll post it but it looks terrible
Clashed? yes. Doubled? no. What appears to be the doubling is actually the top of one of the pillars beside the stairs. Remember that it is a negative inverted image and what you are seeing raised is actually the space between the columns. Richard
Yes, it is the urn. I was using a rather worn reverse to look at today and couldn't quite thunk of exactly what that was supposed to be (I shouldn't type before my first cup of coffee)
I really like clashed coins. I was happy to see a nice clash on my latest purchse that I missed at the time of purchase.
What appears to be columns is actually bays outlines and the bottom of the memorial base behind the head. On the reverse of the memorial cents the angle clash is the shoulder of Abe. It helps when you comare it with an image of the two dies in the position to help to see what is going on. http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/MEMORIAL_overlay.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/2000S_Die_position_for_clash_BOTH.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/2008-P_Die_clash_overlay_03.jpg
