I normally dont bother with zilcons because they are too difficult for me trying to look through blistering and PMD to see anything. However, on this penny, I noticed raised parallel lines running north and south with naked eye. They appeared to be the same distance apart as the lines on the shield.

I noticed 2 prominent lines behind the head. I noticed on prominent line running from the tip of the nose downward. There also one near the nostril and 2 others that are questionable. I tried to use the flash to show the raised line a bit better. Hands are shaky tonight,,,running the lawn mower makes my hands and arms shake for hours sorry!

Having said that, could just be some nice consistent parallel blistering or something. Ive never in the last 3 years ever noticed a die clash on any coin in my possession. I dont even know if you can get clash on a squeezed coin can you? Internet info is conflicting and horrible.

    thoughts???

Looks like a little bit of the shield there on the obverse.

I'm thinking linear plating blisters that resemble a clash.

Thanks guys. Mixed thoughts. It could be super ironic linear plating...since its the same distance apart as the shield.

so that I understand, "clash" is possible with the modern minting process? You guys would have told me if it werent. When researching before posting, one person said it cant happen with the squeeze process and I couldnt figure out the reasoning since there are still 2 dies at place.

Im searching over this thing trying to find a shape that really confirms. Good news is its just a cruddy zinc penny so Im not feeling Im going to lose out on much if it isnt.

That overlay site is excellent. I saved it. It does certainly line up....right off the nose and the ones behind the head. Im gonna 2x2 it. First one for me.

Curious now....assuming it is...is there any premium for this? Doesnt seem real exciting being just a couple lines but who knows.
