When you check your order on the Mints web site and it gives you a tracking number , you click on the number it brings you to the Post Office tracking site. When the mint sends it out standard mail in a co-op with DHL, the number will not come up on the postal site. You must go to the DHL site and enter the number. Your letter carriers delivers it after they get it from DHL If the MINT doesn’t use the co-op DHL & PO then fine, but they do sometimes and do not tell you,or tell to go track your number on DHL This is something you would you think the mint would let you know but doesn't :mouth:
I never knew that. Of course I would never even try to check where my order is, when it will be delivered, when is it being made, etc. Everytime I place an order from the Mint I immediately run to church and pray that nothing goes wrong. Then each night as I get ready for bed I do the same thing. I feel I get better results from that than with contacting the Mint, Postal Department or my congressman.
i have had too many horror stories in 2007 with ebay and the mint. Oh my god hopefully things will be fine in the future?
One of the first post I ever saw on coin talk was talking about how when you order from the mint the only thing you an do is cross your fingers and pray. It is definitely a character builder when you buy from the mint.
I was tracking one of my sets from the mint before it arrived. Feb 8 it left Memphis, and arrived in Kentucky. It was there 7 - 10 days I suppose due to the weather, but then it was sent to California (don't know why). Then to Greensboro NC, then back west some to my city. It arrived Feb 23. The set was fine but the box had some wrinkles.
