Did you ever hear of Dr. John Knox Stuart?

Dr. John Knox Stuart was a medical doctor in Glasgow.

I collect tokens from three major eras:

• Conder Tokens 1787-1797

• Hard Tmes Tokens 1832-1840

• Civil War Tokens 1861-1864

This token is from another time, but somehow, I acquired it. in a D-N-W auction.
I was interested by its farthing nature, and then by the design.
It reminds me a lot of our U.S. Civil War Tokens.
I thought I'd share it here. : )

Dr. Knox must have been an industrious man; he had several business enterprises.
Also, he issued several tokens.

Does anybody here on CoinTalk collect tokens from this time period in Scotland?

That's a really nice token Larry. You're right, it does remind me of a U.S. Civil War store card (Only 20 years earlier). What metal is it, and what's its size? I collect U.S. tokens, but not Scottish issues.
