I am one of the "No, I am still working on it and will complete it" group.

Strictly from circulation so the D Mint marks are a bit scarce in here Columbus, Ohio.

working on it:D just pulling coins from circulation. Doing pretty good with it though. Almost done (except for 2009 and lots of 2008 Ds and some 2007Ds)

Yes-ish. Have mint sets from 1999-2007. Also got a folder and pulling from circulation just to keep to busy. Personally I'm a big fan of the new mint mentality; that is, releasing several different designs of the same coin each year. (ie. penny, nickel, quarter, dollar) Can't wait to see if they change the dime and half in the next few years to follow this new trend.

    Cheers!

Me, too. Just doing it "from circulation" only. And I even got my daughter into it. But, she's just turned 14, and thinks that all other coins are boring* -- except for "her" state quarter collection.

(*Not entirely true -- she thinks that the out-of-mint coins I have -- Indian Head cents and Merc dimes are pretty cool -- but she's not into collecting enough to want to go out and purchase coins . . . too steep for a beginner -- she's saving her money to pay for unlimited texting on her phone and for a laptop.)

It's kind of funny! Wisconsin almost always gets the Denver coins first and we end up waiting six or more months for the Philly. I'm still waiting for the Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, and Hawaii quarters from Philly. I would like to see the dividing line for P and D circulation patterns.

That's a beautiful set and frame Lehigh. I am guessing that those are proofs? Where can I find a frame like that?

    Cheers!

I set up subscriptions with the mint in the beginning for both mint sets and silver proof sets, and I started a jar that I threw quarters into from circulation when I noticed new releases. The jar won't be complete, because of too few Phillys out here in Nebraska. Other than this I don't plan on going further with the series.

I only collected one example of each state. I was never really overly fond of most of the designs and as a result never put alot of effort into the State Quarters.

If you don't count Washington DC and the five territories - I have a complete uncirculated P & D set...

I collected three sets. One has both the P and D. Now I'm wondering why I did it.

The only ones that have any value are the proofs, mainly the silver ones. If you have just the P&D, you might as well spend them.

Missing 2 or 3 to have both mints from circulation/ for face. Hope I get the ones I need in my next roll search box.

  17. I have both the P&D's but all from circulation. I think the designs are interesting. I can't wait to see DC and the territories

i have a framed set that my Grandfather gave me years ago for my birthday when the state quarter series came out. when ever one quarter came out, i would get an uncirculated example in an airtite to place in the frame. its complete except for one. The U.S. commemorative gallery never mailed me a Wisconsin quarter. so theres one empty space. Ive wrote to them and called them a few times, its a hassle trying to work with them. i will give them another call in a day or so.

i got one of those 07-09 p & d whitman folders for free from the redbook. Im filling it up with circulation finds and i have every d but not a single p. And i look at ALL my change and my moms change. i thought that was pretty funny. i bet in a couple years i'll see some, once they circulate a bit more.

I dont think most people are collecting them to make money, i know i'm not. its more of the sense of accomplishment and the satisfaction of having and completing a good lookin set. Making money is not the reason I collect.
