In my opinion, the breast feathers seem less defined, and their is gunk in the denticles near the dollar. Am I wrong in thinking I received the wrong coin?
While looking for the smudge mark on the eagles right wing (left when looking at it) and a mark below the "DO" of dollar and I dont seem to see the same marks. Both are nice coins. Did you see something in the coin you bid on and wanted that wasnt on the coin you received?
I was focusing my attention on the DO on the reverse of DOLLAR on the highlighted image from ebay and see the same type of coloring around those areas as does your pic. Kinda hard to tell to me for sure though.
The one I bid on looked to me to be uncirculated, and had strong definition of the breast feathers. The one I received is AU-58 IMO, and does not have as strong definition, not to mention that it has gunk on it, that was not in the picture.
I am going to have to agree with you, the "gunk" in question @ the 5 o’clock position is not on the one you were bidding on. And the breast feathers do appear to have more wear on them. Like the advertisement says... you are the final judge. Satisfaction guaranteed?
Did you change the Airtite it came in ? That is different than the pic from ebay. I dont think that it is the same coin.
Can you post a picture of the obverse? There is a dark spot in front of her face that should be on yours also.
I contacted the seller, and they said they sent me the wrong coin. I should have my coin by thursday : )
This would be a big plus for graded and en-capsuled coins. Had Zaneman not been on his toes he was just about to be switched perhaps.
