I seriously hope your not serious. If you linked to the correct auction it was full of damaged, worn, messed up coins. Sorry, hate to be honest but I hope you didn't buy those.
Carl, priced individually. those coins are worth around $250 to $400 There is an 1812 Large Date Classic Head Large Cent in there that I think grades fine. I think it is a problem free coin, but am not certain. That coin alone retails for $300
Sorry but Carl is correct. I feel you paid a bit too much. It may have been a fair deal but I'm not seeing that from the images. The better 1812 is still a problem coin.
Matchmaker, if you can sell these on eBay to get a profit, keep us updated... I'd be interested to see on what these sell for.
Make sure to include nice photos, a detailed description, and clear shipping and payment information. I find that when I offer free shipping, my items sell for more and people are enticed to them.
Aside from current market prices and so forth I think it would be worth that price just because those are some seriously old cents. I would not mind having those.
You did good, man. You were not going to go spend 130 and get all of those anywhere else. They may be worn but we all have coins that are worn and we all have coins that are nicer than another person's so it is all equal in the end. As long as your happy with 'em...
When you have the coin in hand and still question if it's a problem coin, please post a better image. I hope I'm wrong but the corrosion on both sides and damage to the right field of the obverse, look like a problem. I would also like to know how you turn out if you sell them one at a time on Ebay. Wish you the best.
Sure I can, but that's just my opinion. As I said "I hope I'm wrong". When you have it in hand and with the great images you take, I'm sure we will agree.
I think you got an average deal. I would only rate the 1812 at G-4 while the seller gave it a VF-20. That would be a very large stretch to me.
This coin is definately better than G-4. I didnt even pay attention to his silly grades anyway. Anyone that calls those coins "9 Large Indian Head Coins" is not a persons whose grading I would rely on. From the pic, I believe is going to be a VG10 or an F12.
