$18 each is not a terrible price for Peace Dollars. Really would depend on the condition though, if you got a great deal. But, unless they're counterfeit, you could hardly call it a ripoff. Maybe a tad bit overpriced if they're all in lower grades or harshly cleaned, but for the silver value alone you could get more than half your money back.
I would say you did very well given they are all genuine and problem free. I see a lot of luster. Just my opinion.:kewl:
Also, check the date/mintmarks. I was assuming they are all common dates, but maybe there's a semi-key or two.
being a very short series, there are only two key date coins and no semi-keys for the Peace Dollar series. The 1921 and the 1928 are the key dates. Personally, I love the series and think that if you have a nice mix of dates then you probably got a pretty good deal. As Peter said, the melt value is about half, so you can't have lost too much even at worst.
Could you give us a bigger picture of the 2 best coins . If you're happy with the coins and price you did fine . rzage
Definitely not a bad price. They looks mostly AU/BU, with maybe an XF in there. I agree, closeup pictures would be helpful in determining value.
