Here's a question for all of you who collect Jefferson nickels: I am completing a set of Jeffs I started as a boy some 30 years ago. All that are missing from my Littleton album are the San Francisco proofs from 1971-1975. (Never collected proofs as a kid). If a coin isn't slabbed, how can I tell if it's a genuine proof? Checking out the Heritage coin site, they don't seem to be worth very much each, even in PR60+. What are the caveats if I try to buy them via eBay? I'm in the listening and learning mode......Thanks. If you are asking how to determine if 1971-1975 coins are proofs, that's easy enough. If they have an "S" mintmark, they are proofs.
do they make an album that has a spot for every single coin of each year? I believe there were buisness strikes at San Fran? I may be wrong but if there were wouldnt the album have to be P,D,S,S PROOF?
