Deterioration?

    IMO I would say environmental damage.

    i find dimes looking like this all the time while metal detecting. Dave is right environmental damage. Thanks Noah

    Probably just some light corrosion. Clad dimes are made mainly from copper, which corrodes into a green color, which is why the dime is kind of greenish yellow.
