Can anyone give the rarity of the 1922 1922-D 1922-S detached olive Branch which was part of the first hub. From what I have read about 10% of the mintage have the detached olive branch. I know they bring a premium. Does anyone search these?

There is no Vam. The official Red Book of peace dollars is the best reference, page 188.

Are you referring to the B1 reverse? That’s mentioned on the VAMworld web page. It’s basically VAM #1 and a few others.

Yes, I failed to look at Vam 1. I was under the impression there were no Vams for the B1 reverse. I understand these bring a small premium. Its estimated about 10% of the 1922 is of the B1 reverse.

There may be a few individual VAM-1 listings that may command a slight premium but 10% of 80 million is still quite a few Peace Dollars.

Yes this is true. Most were put into circulation so finding one in gem condition is a bit of a challange.

A sampling of the SSDC registry of P, D and S VAM-1_ reveals over 50% mint state with many in the 64-66 range. I'm not sure how this translates to rarity but you may want to join VAMWorld 2.0 and ask the question. There are a few die hard dark siders over there.

Any thought if the bag mark / scratch on the front would keep this from being graded with a high grade? Thank you. M.S.

What did you buy it at? And what is the high grade that you might expect? It really depends on the luster, and surfaces. The lighting is a bit hard to read in your photos.
