Depositing Direct Ship Coins at the bank

I know the Mint recently posted a statement whereby you are agreeing to spend the direct ship coins rather than deposit them in your bank and collect any free points on your credit card.

But just for arguments sakes, what if you did try to deposit them? is the bank obligated to accept the coins from you or can they deny the deposit?

[ I was at the bank last week and the head teller was standing next to the regular teller. When I mentioned that I was looking for a specific Presidential coin roll and I told her that sometimes I don't get the roll I want from the direct ship program from the Mint, she asked if I deposited them back. Sensing the nature of the question, I said I don't -- that I spent them. Which is not a lie. However, what prompts this thread is --- what if I took some of the coins in afterall?]

Based on my last inventory count, I could probably use a little inventory reduction. I have approximately $2000 in direct ship coins on hand.

They are not obligated to accept them and yes they can deny the deposit. You can also close your account, you are not obligated to do business with them, nor them with you.

This sounds like something my (millionaire) boss would do. :D
