    Hi!
    I recently came across an error in a British India one rupee coin where a couple of denticles are incused between E & S of Empress. Can members here help in correctly attributing this error? Also what could have caused this error?

    Thanks

    Looks like a small IDB. Or possible the early signs of a small rim cud.

    What is an IDB?

    Interior die break.

    o_O It was also an IDKWTFHWTA until he :cigar::bookworm: educated :bucktooth: me. Some of the stuff I read on the forums is TPELTMUSJTIO. :facepalm:o_O Whatever, I'll get over it.

    Thanks, @Pickin and Grinin but I see no evidence of a broken die. Die breaks are raised and the characteristic looks indented. Don't ask me what it is.

    Possibly a planchet defect when the coin was struck, that's a beautiful coin.

    Possibly rust? Creating an anomaly on the die face.

    Are you trying to say that it is a strike thru?

    I thought I was very clear don't you?

    [QUOTE="Insider, post: 24492625, member: 24314" Don't ask me what
    it is.

    This is what I see:

    Depressions into the surface of a coin next to and into the denticals that appear to have a man-made shape? My best guess out of my ignorance is "Struck thru a fragment." So I'll write this again with :angelic: emphasis:

    Please,:angelic: Don't ask :bucktooth: me what it is. :facepalm: I WAS NOT THERE when the coin was made!

    Not Picking on ya, you don't have to talk in Pink ad yellow. I was trying to figure out the upper case letters you posted.

    Nevermind, I am going back to the Bristol dirt race. Have a good evening Insider.

    This is a good forum when things get boring in real life. About once every four years. :) Jim
