This is a true double die ,the images are raised and notched. I don;t see signs of machine doubling . I know you can have machine doubling and a double die on one coin yes.but I really don't see it here sometimes it's hard to make these errors out viewing pics. Great find an a nice foreign double die. I indicated the notching on one area of the coin.

These coins are minted different then ours the letters on ours are rounded more if you notice these letters are flat so the doubling die would appear flat, there is notching and the images are raised and the metal is not pushed up . This can be very tricky on coins from some foriegn countries. Jazzcoins Joe:whistle:

    Hi Joe,

No, they are not too tricky. Treashunt is right on the money. The only questionable feature is the bottom of the K. The rest is mostly machine doubling damage.

To put it simply, Flat letters don't matter, we have coins minted here with flat letters. What is important is the positioning and the look of the notches and grooves. Your coin shows only one instance of clear separation and that is on the K. There may be some notching on some of the other lettering but that is not too clear based upon the pictures.

This coin is questionable at best as to it being a doubled die variety. The only hope is that K and some of the other possible notching and that would need to be studied closely.

    Thanks,
    Bill
