I saw a Delaware quarter with a cast die error which resulted in the E in "First State" to be absent. I have heard that these are not uncommon, but definate error coins. How much are these coins generally valued at?

What you have is a filled die. This is the most common of all the error catagories. They don't bring much of a premium.

What is an average estimate one of these errors could be sold for?

It would depend entirely on who wanted to purchase such a coin and how badly they wanted it. But I would be very surprised if anyone would pay more than one or two dollars for it. These filled die errors are very, very common and can be found by anyone who takes the time to look at their pocket change.
