Just opened a new roll of Mint wrapped Philly quarters and found 12 of these out of 40, not too shabby. And I wonder why people don't want to crack new rolls, not me.
Very cool! I believe that is what is know as a lapped die. I have found a few Lincoln's with this "error", but never a quarter. Lucky dawg* What date is on the box? I know it's a variety but that word just didn't seem to work in the sentence.
Actually I did not have a box. I was buying one roll each of the state quarters as they came out for around the first 12 states, then stopped. Wish I had continued. I'll never know what I missed.
