Anyone tried the Defender self slabs that Coin Supply Express flogged to me in an email? Opinions? They only make them to fit modern diameters so I'm going to create a spreadsheet to see how close those dimensions will match to my 19th century raw US coins. If I can get a close match, I'll order that size and see how it fits.
Quote by Richard Pryor Let me tell you what really happened. Usually when I go to bed, I have milk and cookies. And one night I had some low-fat milk and some pasteurized, and I mixed them together. And I dipped my cookie and the @#$% blew up.
So what you are saying, is you are a Defender of the word Prior. Poor Richard, there ought to be an Almanac or something for the poor people that get confused.
Not yet. I did compare the diameters I needed and it looks like the only ones that will fit the raw coins I want to self-slab with these are the more modern nickels, cents, dimes. So, I will order some and see how they work. I will post when that happens, probably in two or three weeks. You know, not prior to the Prior blessing my Thanksgiving dinner with a Pryor quip.
I bought 5 quarter sized ones for my ddddd/u1 slabs. They were perfectly fine for my purpose. I tend to use the Lighthouse quickslabs (easy to open) or everslabs (not easy to open) as they are a little less expensive per unit. Also the insert is more forgiving, so you can fit something that is slightly larger than the listed diameter (this isn't possible with the Defender slabs).
