I have a 1983 quarter which appears to be a mis strike or something of that sort. It appears as though there was something in the blank from which the quarter was struck. On the face side there is a little flat lump with a depression on it. On the obverse side there is a larger lump with a crater or divot in it as if it had been hit by a ball peen hammer. I have attached a couple of photos. Any idea what this is. Does a defect of this sort have any value?

hammered, shot, or sat on by elephant. Either way, it's only worth a quarter.
