All this metal detecting finds, that I have seen in the past few weeks, really got me thinking,as I am a treasure hunter at heart.I was thinking I would take my "Mad little spaghetti eater",and pack her in a backpack on my back,"not really",and rummage throughout the lands,in search for??? who knows. So just less than an hour ago I was searching the internet, and came across this.the price was so right in my head,I couldnt pass.I instantly drove 30mi and cashed out to some Hippies,"seriously" but not to offend,at their mansion in the apartments,in the dark late night.adventure in itself.tell me what you think, did I do go,or did I do good? Mad spaghetti eater giving daddi'o the evil "give me back my spaghetti face BOUNTY HUNTER LAND STAR 8 & 10-12in coil bag, shovels, headphones, hip pack, & gold nugget high power pickup. $80 like brand new,and battery to boot.

Captain Mad Reporting in,stardate Log 41920.10 Sunday,I went to a local "forest park" and I took two 12yr old diggers,My kid & his friend, then came home & went back out into the neighborhood.this is our findings. some 30yr old bear cans,I believe they were from hunters in the woods,as this development was not around when those beer cans were made.in my neighborhood A working flashlight, still worked when found, you cant kill those things about 25 cents antique barb wire, from about the 40's I believe about 10+ year old speed square kinda cool,it was in the woods, maybe a cons.worker got mad and tossed it. LOL LOL oh yeah In my front yard,I found orange string, for doing driveways, and charting out land, and 1 Budweiser can this week,im hoping to go talk to some neighboring farmers. I will check back in
OK Captain MAD reporting in,on my Tuesday find. Thats right A decided to go wondering the neighborhood again.I hope you are sitting down,if not please do.This may get exciting. 200yards away from my front door is a "lake" well its more like a pond now,as there is like no water.Now....My area I live in is fairly new.it doesnt register on the GPS as existing, and their all cookie cutter style houses.anyway.... So less than 15 years ago there was nothing here, just lakes, and ponds. So I went to another area that has woods,a very small amount of woods.next to the lake. nothing,I found nothing.then I seen a wheel? apparently I found a old fashioned tractor pull mower, with the moving blades,I thought how cool. Then my son yelled DAD!!!! CHECK THIS OUT!!!,so I went over to him,it was a bed frame??? next to it was a refrigerator door??? To make a long story a little shorter.I found what I believe to be a "house" or a hunters cabin.I believe it would range in date from the earliest of the 40's....After 30min of fun,my son had 9 ticks on him,so we decided to pack it up and call it a day.I know there is alot more stuff there and I cant wait to go back!!200yards!!!!! Away!!! Its amazing what you can find in your own backyard!!! here is some finds.along with a 50-60's style pontiac hubcap
I love this thread!!! Thanks for documenting your experiences Captain MAD...keep them coming :eating: -LTB
on the subject of metal detecting i bought myself a pioneer EX at sports authority on sale for 100 yesterday. i only found some lincoln so corroded i cant read the date and some junk - some lever which i think was from a bike or something. when i get more time theres alot of decent areas within walking distance to check.
Had a detector when i was a kid, Boy it was alot of fun used it mostly at The beach found a few bucks.....Didnt get rich though
I havent been able to "tweek" the detector yet. I put one of each penny dime nickel silver on the ground and ran the detector over it for practice.but I havent had time to tweek it,just run outside and hear pppppeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaappppppp
