Here's a rare bi-metallic jeton issued under Henri III of France in 1579. Yellow copper outer and silver inner. Sadly, not in as good a condition as I would have liked, nor listed in any reference books on jetons I have come across to date. Obverse bears the arms of France and Legend refers to titles of Henri III. Reverse has `Peace' standing and legend reads Pax Nititur Armis.

Here's another rare french jeton dated 1579, this time it was struck for Mary Queen of Scots during the time of her incarceration (1568 till her execution in 1587) at the hands of her sister, Queen Elizabeth I of England.

An inventory of her goods made in 1586 included "Bourses de veloux vert, garnyes de jetons d'argent aux armes de sa majeste" ("Purses of green velour garnished with silver jetons bearing Her Majesty's arms"). The silver jetons described were most likely of the type in the attached image.

Obverse shows crowned joint shields of France and Scotland. Legend reads : MARIA. D. G. SCOTOR. REGINA. FRAN. DOI

Reverse shows a vine with one healthy (left) and one withered (right) branch being watered from heaven. Presumably this signifies her reign being stifled by her incarceration. Legend reads: MEA SIC MIHI PROSUNT
