I mostly am working towards a US type set long term but any time I see something that catches my eye from the darkside and the price is reasonable I add it. Top one is a new pickup and the rest is my total darkside collection to date. Thanks for looking and please add your pics as well! This is the new addition. Hard to believe something hammer struck over 400 years ago can still have beautiful almost mark free prooflike surfaces and luster. German States 1612 AR 3 Kreuzer, Groschen. PCGS 65: Italian States 1339-42 (ND) AR Grosso. PCGS 63: Netherlands (Gelderland): "St. John" type gold gulden (florin) of Arnold van Egmond, ca. 1423-1472. Purchased from @lordmarcovan earlier this year (it probably still pains him to see this one since it was Filed Rims details when he owned it and is now an AU50). How a 600 year old gold coin should look IMO I love the design of these Cap & Rays 8Rs but honestly I don't love how a large percentage of them have toned. This one instantly caught my eye. Mexico 1834-Go PCGS 64: 1801 Bolivia Potosi Mint 8R. PCGS AU50 with great colors and enough luster left to make them pop up. 1813 L Jp Peru 8R PCGS MS62 with a cool die crack on the reverse running directly through the middle. That's the lot of them. Post what you got, love seeing all that's out there.
Some nice finds...glad to see you're back posting. All the specimens above are killer coins...killer because they aren't in my collection
Thanks! I guess I haven’t been posting too much lately soon enough my house will be sold and I’ll have more to share when I have a non zero coin budget! Two mortgages is killer for cash flow as it turns out
THOSE. ARE. AMAZING!!!!! I think the Italian States one is my favorite - I'm not sure I've ever seen one so fully struck, perfectly centered, and attractively toned. That is spectacular. Your Newp is stunning as well.
