Hello... well since many of you know iam still preoccupied with paintball so iam looking throught some pennies and i now have a complete series 3 of lincoln mem.'s! all the way from 60's to current and iam planning on upgrading the whitman folder to a nice new better efficent way of storing them...so heres the perdicament...i went to a local book store for my dad and just happend to " accidently " walk through the coin aisle...lol ...and i was looking for an album and found no dansco but did find a US mint album...from what i hear the dansco is about the same as the one i saw...will i be ok if i get a Us mint instead it was about the same as a dansco...19.95$....any advice is appreciated... quality-wise they are pretty similar. So if it would display your coins in a manner that would be pleasing to you then go for it, but if you have your heart set on a Dansco, then wait, you will be glad you did in the long run.
I prefer Dansco over everything else. My wife and I probably own in the neighborhood of 40 of them and will not buy anything else. Thats after 30 years of trying everything else. If it is a coin I am really interested in protecting then only an airtite will suffice!
I use Dansco though all albums have the problem of the slides and mounting coins in there can cause problems unless you are very deliberate and careful. Also there is the matter of toning. Some of my coins have toned beautifully in Dansco some not so well.
