Dansco Type Set Albums

I particularly like type sets. The Dansco Type set album has slots for most (but not all) type coins minted after 1800. I’ve managed to fill my book, but would like to assemble a more complete collection of type coins. Unfortunately, the Dansco book does not have openings for any of the draped bust or earlier silver type coins. To my knowledge, Dansco has the most complete US Type Set book.
Does anyone know if there exists a more complete type set book?

My question to the forum is: how many of you would also be interested in a more complete album?
if there is interest, perhaps we could start a letter campaign to Dansco

In particular, I’d like to see a Dansco style type set book that included:
    1/2¢: 1793, 1794-97 Liberty Cap
1¢; chain, wreath & Liberty Cap
    perhaps all three silver types
1/2 dime: flowing hair, draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles)
10¢: draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles); 1809-28 capped bust
25¢: draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles); 1815-28 capped bust
50¢: flowing hair, draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles)
$1: flowing hair, draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles). I’m not sure about the Gobrecht $
Type I gold dollar, $3 gold to make a more complete gold page.

While I highly doubt that I could ever afford the 1796 small eagle draped bust 25¢ and 50¢ coins, I’d like to try filling out the rest of the slots. One could also do all the earlier gold type coins, but that also is well beyond the budget of 97% (2 sigmas) of collectors.

Sounds like a challenge! Maybe doable, but I think their reasoning is they want to give collectors a fair chance at filling all the holes and like you said, most will not ever be able to afford some of those coins. I remember having an old type folder (not even an album) that had a plug in that could be removed for, I think it was one of the 1796 coins, maybe the quarter. As for those old unaffordable rarities, I’ve resigned to the fact that the best I’ll ever do with them is my collection of Gallery Mint Museum pieces, which does look like a multi million dollar collection in my curio coffee table.

    gallery mint

Early on, in anticipation of extending my type set, I did get both the 1796 quarter and half (and yes, they do have COPY on them). Beautiful coins, I jsut wish I could afford real ones.
Does anybody know if Gallery Mint ever started back up?

I think someone bought Gallery Mint but don't know if they started back.

I checked a couple months ago and GMM wasn't operating then. Let me know if you hear anything.

Whitman makes an album that offers more complete coverage. Many collectors flinch at placing the more expensive coins in a album though, so the Dansco set is a decent compromise.
