Hello. I'm getting back into collecting after about a ten year break. I'm moving some of my collections to Dansco Albums, and wonder if there is a good method for inserting the coins at the best depth for viewing (especially brown coins) without scratching them with the mylar sheets. I've just been eyeballing it, but is there a better way? Thanks
Just make sure you insert the coin all the way into the hole as intended. A lot of people don't do this and then wonder why their coins get scratched from sliding the plastic over them. If they are in correctly, they don't come anywhere near the top plastic slide. Guy~
For me the easiest way is to put the rear mylar sheet in first, then using a cloth press the coin in through the top just until it is slightly below the surface so when the top mylar sheet is slid in it does not rub against the coin. Oh and before you put an coins in wipe any lose particles that might be around the holes.
