Does anybody know what the plastic slides are made of in modern Dansco Albums (not PVC i hope)? Are they coin safe?

I would never put really valuable coins in an album ... but if I have a modern series ... is storing in Dansco ok?

Also can you damage (or lower the grade of) an UNC coin by sliding the plastic slide (once or twice as you place coins)

Do most people simply remove the plastic slides?

    Thanks for anyones input!

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

Yes, you can damage the coins with the slides.

What I do is push the coins well down into their holes (using a gloved finger) before replacing the slide.

I have never damaged a coin, and I own more than a dozen Danscos, some for quite a few years now.

Personally, I don't keep any valuable coins in Danscos as to minimize the risk of toning and slide marks.
