A long time ago I asked if Dansco Albums were a good way to store coins & the general consensus was that they were NOT. But..... Would a Dansco Album be OK for a general collection of "so-so" condition circulated coins?? Thanks, Bill
Well - I keep some really nice large cents in a dansco album. I also have one with VF or better liberty nickels. I see no reason not to keep any coins in a dansco - well maybe high ms high dollar coins. I like dansco albums.
Dansco albums are fine...just plan on your coins toning, and don't play with the slides once you get the coins in there. stainless
I think they're great for circulated coins , Heck I still use the older Blue Whitmans for my early wheat cents , and I can't even see the reverses . rzage
I think Danscos are great. I have all my moderns in them and the majority of the coins are MS65+/PR68+. They may tone a bit but they'll probably do that over time with any storage system short of slabbing and I'm not to sure of the slabbing thing. I store my slabs in Intercept Shield boxes.
I love Dansco albums and you can now buy a protective sleeve to fit over them to help preserve your coins from the elements.
i just picked up a Dansco album for my silver state quarter set(1999-2009) curious how it holds up after time
I bought a Dansco album today while I was at a coin show today (The third and last day of coin show). I bought the Dansco album for putting a few of my 1970's 1-oz silver art bars in it.
Dansco albums come highly recommended by my favorite coin dealer. I trust his opinion. I don't think they'll negatively affect the surfaces or values of any coin that shouldn't be slabbed in the first place. Plus they have the added bonus of being made in the USA. Most of their competitors have resorted to importing their albums, which concerns me as to what materials are being used in the manufacturing process.
