I have a Dansco 7001 Currency album with the 3 pocket pages. My wife is from Africa and I'm in the process of filling the album with notes from where we were in Africa. I want it to be a Christmas present and I need some more pages. Long story short - it seems the 7001 has been discontinued...... You can still get it on e-bay, but almost every online store I googled said it was out of stock. And there was virtually no one who had extra pages for it. Just a heads up - if you have that album and use it, you may want to get extra pages or whatever before it becomes impossible. EDIT: This is important because the currency album is not the same size as other Dansco albums. So you can't put "regular" dansco pages in this album. As far as I can tell, Dansco has pulled the plug on this album. What I was really looking for were the "1 pocket" pages. I am not exaggerating when I say it took me over two hours to find anyone who had these pages. I finally found someone and ordered them. But I have not received them. I'm guessing I'll get an e-mail on Monday saying that their website was out-of-date and that they really don't have them.
I could go on forever. But once again, these were plucked from circulation (Thus my moniker Pocket Change). These are not pristine, never touched, never used examples. I don't see the point of collecting such items - although all my Sierra Leone stuff is crisp and crunchy. On one of my trips, I got there right after the UN set itself up and you couldn't help but get new, crisp bills for anything you did.
Very nice looking notes and you can deffinatly see the French influence on most of them, thanks for sharing them with us
Thank you for sharing. When I tried to get brand new bills in Colombia, it was a daunting task. It was unbelievable what I had to do in order to get them. What we consider to be an unfit bill is still like new for them. THey will circulation a bill until you can barely tell it's denomination.
