I have all ways wanted to learn how they grade these. So, this should be fun.:) IMG_0001_1.JPG IMG_0002_1.JPG

    MS 64

I'm guessing this is the bulk version? For those it seems like the grade ends up being MS 63 or 64. For the high grade version, I pretty much always see MS 69 (maybe an occasional 68 if there is some flaw; MS 70 is said to not be given at all for these overstrikes by Anacs).

Tough to call. I do love the die cracks on the reverse. I might say MS-65.

No, but Ebay completed sales will do.

Picken'....I'm saying 68, looks better than "bulk" to me.

This was already slabbed, that's what I used for my reference.

@ddddd when these are sent in, do they know what they are grading, bulk VS high grade?

Same here, they were what sold the coin.

Generally yea, a lot of people just send them in his flips. Theoretically you could maybe pull a better grade from a bulk one but I kind of doubt it.

Mighty neat coin, particularly since the last year of the Barber halves was 1915!

Ah, a Dan Carr coin. It looked too good to be true.

It’s pretty much like @baseball21 said. They theoretically know, but aren’t often forced to make a judgement call since people send in the Carr flip (I did the one time I submitted some Carr items).

    I'm guessing MS65. But I wouldn't be surprised at MS66.

Does anyone else have a Graded O/S, for comparison? To possibly help discern there grading tier for these Tokens, I am with @Rick Stachowski It would be nice to have a reference for them.

I have the high-grade proof-like cameo version. Graded PL MS 69 DCAM.

If you like, I can easily post photos. But it's not an apples-to-apples comparison, so probably not much help.

BTW, do you know if yours is a bulk-handled version? Or high-grade (MS 67+)?

Definitely a bulk handled.I didn't doubt it, seems to me that a 64 is closer to a 68 grade, if the Bulk handled coins top out at 65.

Actually NGC adds a note which says “Counterfeit - not encapsulated” ;-)
