While searching through a roll of Halves I found what I thought was a nice MS '73-D: A second disappointing look showed the all too familiar circular gouges from a rolling machine: I seem to find this type of damage more frequently over time and it makes me wonder: Since Half Dollars are rarely seen in circulation, I think that a significant proportion of those that we get in BWRs are re-processed from a past CRHer's dump. The abundance of different marks that I find on many Halves tends to support this theory. It's likely that most CRHers are going to keep on CRHing (I know that I plan to) and our numbers could be growing. The banks aren't likely to do away with their rolling machines either, so unless a better machine comes along I'm afraid that the day will come when MOST Halves will have this damage
