Damage or Die Cracks?

I'm watching this and I was wondering whether there was a Die Crack connecting TE and also possibly from the bottom left of D underneath NIT to another crack from the rim through I to the inner leaf under N.

    Or is this just damage?

It could be a new, later die state than previously described and might offer support for the Clapp 14c-Ld in ANS.

There is dispute whether the extensive cracks through the LEGEND are real or from a resin coating with Noyes on the resin/glue side.

ps I have almost never heard the term spalling in descriptions, but the term is used in almost every die state description of both the obverse and reverse.

    S-157 btw.

Spalling is synonymous with damage.........that said, you my friend, are the expert. :)

Let me rephrase something from the post. I should have said disagreement rather than dispute over whether the Clapp 14c-Ld in ANS is a Real Die State or PMD. Friends can disagree while a dispute implies a more adversarial position.

I also note this might be a Die State between IV and the Clapp ANS piece. Since I have not seen the described piece, I assume "extensive breaks in the LEGEND" are probably more numerous than the subject piece with it's possible break at connecting the bottom of TE(D).

In any event, I still haven't seen much of a market premium besides myself for rare die states unless it's spectacular.

Has anybody figured out how to access the ANS photos? I have tried numerous times and wind up frustrated trying to do what should be a simple search.

Yes but damage to the DIE either from rust, or from the die chipping. Not damage to the coin.
