DAMAGE AT THE FACTORY, YES?

    What do you think, I am certainly not an expert, but it does not look like PMD to me...

    It's split plate doubling. It does happen at the "factory", but it's a plating issue and it's common.
    NB. It's the mint, not the factory.

    PMD, although named "post mint damage" doesn't mean damage that occurred after leaving the mint (facility), but rather damage that occurs after the mint (strike) process. This damage may have come from the die or not... the photos are a bit too grainy/contrasty to tell. It looks like it might be one of those cases where the copper shell got moved too much from the zinc core. Common and not really considered an error.
