I will be in Dallas for a couple days. Any recommendations for dealers/shops? I mostly collect pre-65 US. Thanks!

Howdy, @J2035! Lone Star Mint always seems to have nice selections, but they are in Plano, just north of Dallas, off US75. (805 E. 15th Street) Always friendly & courteous when I've been in.;)

Do a little Internet search. It will be more specific to the area you are in. The last time I checked Dallas was a rather large place.

I think @J2035 is looking for feedback on any personal references any of us have had...it's easy to find all the options available, especially in a large metroplex like Dallas (Heritage is HQ'd here)...but to get actual references...that's a bonus. Just sayin'...;)

And both @PlanoSteve and I live in the metroplex. The pickings are slim. IMNSHO, almost everything is now a gold&silver buying place.

Yes - looking for feedback. In my experience many of the listings for 'coin dealers' are modern, gold/silver, jewelry, priced above market, etc. I would really appreciate any recommendations. I have a bit of time to kill, a car and it will be during the week, so pretty flexible. Suggestions for dealers with a good selection of collector grade material that is priced at market would be very welcome! Thanks!

I didn’t realize you and @PlanoSteve were both in Dallas. Never met Steve but I had the opportunity to meet you briefly at the ANA in Dallas in 2015.

Another shop is Dallas Rare Coins but as mentioned for such a large metro area the B&M are slim to none.

Smart to ask for recommendations. Last time I went back home I did plug local coin shops in my Google search. I drove to two gold-silver shops, one pawn shop and one guy that was an internet middleman coin dealer of some sort. Didn’t find one single B&M coin shop that day.

Honestly I don't have any recommendations...

Beyond the shop that @PlanoSteve recommended, Dallas Gold and silver sets up at some coin shows but I don't know which of their branches has the inventory. several people at the coin club worker have worked at Fort Worth Coin on camp Bowie.
