I bought this because it looked cool and I'm something of a history and WWII buff. It this was actually put out by the US Mint, but I'm not certain. It has an area of gunk on the reverse that I can only assume started after being graded and slabbed. Any and all thoughts are welcome. Rob
It actually is supposed to commemorate the entire WWII period and not just D-Day, although they did use the D-Day reference on the coin. possibly because that seem to be the one of the most memorable dates from the WWII era for most people.
Yes it's a US Mint issue. Thats the latest PCGS slab so that spot was on the coin when it was graded.
