I picked this up at work today folks because I've never seen one before. I know some people collect old or unusual folders so I thought I'd share it. From Numismatic News in 1984 the 25th anniversary of the Memorial Cent. Took some doing for this one it seems. First the custom holder was designed by Whitman Coin Products. There is an aluminum token and copper nickel medal. These were designed by none other than Frank Gasparro who designed the Lincoln Memorial Cent Reverse. The token and medal were struck by the Franklin Mint. A lot was involved in producing this folder it seems. I have no idea as to it's value but a good conversation piece if nothing else. Here's a bunch of pics. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/forums/folder1.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/forums/folder2.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/forums/folder3.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/forums/folder4.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/forums/folder5.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/forums/folder6.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/forums/folder7.jpg Opinions are welcomed on this odd piece.
Nice old folder and no fingerprints on the coins. Someone took a bit of care in putting this together.
Thanks for the responses all and the coins are all nice an red unlike my pictures. I'm wondering if the set came complete from NN or had to be assembled other than the medal and token.
